I’m sitting here thinkin’ ‘bout you giving it up I’m like a lonely old begger with my little tin cup I’m sitting here ‘bout you leaving with me Well I’m telling you baby you’re my fantasy I’m Begging For You, baby I’m Begging For You I’m Begging For you, cause you’re in my dreams Things I got to say get them off of my chest I ain’t been getting no sleep, I ain’t been getting no rest Cause in my mind I see you every night I see you stand by the window in the moonlight (chorus) Well please little baby you got me on my knees Well didn’t your mama tell you it isn’t nice to tease Some men you can’t trust, you can’t tell what’s true Come on home with this boy and let me worship you (chorus) Words/music: Doug Steigerwald All rights reserved 2012

You better cry for me baby, I sure cry for you You better cry for me baby, I sure cry for you Cause you know in the end it’s not what you say, it’s what you do You better pray for me baby, I sure pray for you You better pray for me baby, I sure pray for you Cause you know in the end it’s not what you say, it’s what you do Well you talk, talk, talk about how you’re gonna change your ways But you know in the end, it’s all a big story and you just can’t change the page You better feel for yourself baby, cause I won’t feel for you You better feel for yourself baby, cause I don’t feel for you Cause you know in the end it’s not what you say, it’s what you do Well you talk, talk, talk about how good you can be But after so many words I don’t believe what I don’t see You better take cover baby—I won’t cover for you You better take cover baby—I won’t cover for you Cause you know in the end it’s not what you say, it’s what you do It’s what you do… It’s up to you… It’s what you do… And it’s up to you… Words/music: Doug Steigerwald All Rights Reserved 2012

I’m a poor man people, since I threw my life away I’m a poor man people, since I threw my life away Every time I got to choose, I always went down the wrong way I had the gift of love, but I did not hold it dear I had the gift of love, but I did not hold it dear I may have said the words myself, but I was really insincere solo I had no time for children, I had to much work to do I had no time for my children, I had too much else to do Now they’re gone just like their mother, and they’re all too busy too I’m a lonely man, I’m just sitting in the dark I’m a lonely old man, I’m just sitting here in the dark I’ll let the TV do my thinking, while I just sit here drinking And wait for my time to come Come on now… solo Words and music by D. I feel lost in this city Can't stand to face these crowds I feel lost, misdirected Surrounded by unfamiliar sounds So I went looking, looking, looking for my home I went out driving, driving Trying to find my way home But I'd never traveled this way Never went this way alone But I kept on looking, looking, looking for my home The last time I went looking Didn't know what I would find I was too easily distracted the directions slipped my mind Now I'm trying to remember all the memories so dear But I can't find where I started Could have sworn that it was here, right here solo Where'd my life all go now The children have all left home They've been scattered by the winds In directions of their own One day they'll be looking, looking, looking for their home words and music: D. Don’t want to hear her name Don’t want to see her again Cause every time I see her I can’t get her off of my mind Can’t stand to stay too long, Just in case she comes along Cause if she comes along I know I won’t get her off of my mind But then I just can’t leave, can’t understand it When I can’t have the woman that I really need So leave, I’ve overdone it, I’ve done it this time I know I won’t get her off of my mind solos But then I just can’t leave, can’t understand it When I can’t have the woman that I really need So leave, I’ve overdone it, I’ve done it this time I know I won’t get her off of my mind I think of smelling her hair And I dream of touching her there Cause every time I see her I can’t get her off of my mind Yeah, every time I see her I can’t get her off of my mind You know, that every time I see her I can’t get her off of my mind Words and music by D. History 03:22
She said it’s just like a man to want to love and run He want to hit the road after he have his fun I said not me darling I’m the staying kind I’m the longest staying man that you’ll ever find I’ve got a long, long history of loving you She said she can see the lies when a man moves his lips Beats the rat overboard off a sinking ship I said baby there may be something back in your past But I’ve got commitment guaranteed to last I’ve got a long, long history of loving you I’ve got a long, long history of loving you Let the winds from the ocean fill my sails and take me in search of my holy grail But I won’t let bad weather keep me from my quest I have to travel the world till I pass, till I pass your test I’ve got a long, long history of loving you She said she knows good and well a man can speak the lines When the morning light reveals less prince than swine I said don’t be confused by some previous act Let the jury decide based on all the facts I’ve got a long, long history of loving you I’ve got a long, long history of loving you Words and music by D. I have seen with my own eyes and I believed And I have felt with my own heart, oh how I believed But when she said that she was leaving and I woke up from that dream Well I knew love was a beautiful illusion Oh yes I needed her and I still need her but I’m alone And I have dreamed of her, sometimes I see her but she’s gone And when she said that it was over and I watched her turn away Well I knew love was a beautiful illusion It seemed so real, the way she touched my heart with her smile And I could feel her there by side if I just close my eyes for a while Oh I was blind to the truth, but now I see Oh I have lied to myself, but now I can see So when she said that it was over like the setting of the sun I knew love was a beautiful illusion Yes I knew love was a beautiful illusion Yes I knew love was a beautiful illusion words and music: D. Would you tell my fortune, cause I need some hope Would you tell my future, cause right now I can’t cope Well I learned my lesson, I learned from my mistakes And I need you back baby, I’ll do whatever it takes I know I should be down on my knees I’m beggin you show a little mercy please It’s too hard to live It’s too hard to live It’s too hard to live without your love Could you lean a little closer, could you lend me an ear Could you spare one moment, and let me show I care I can’t stand this distance, between you and me Every waking hour becomes a misery I know I could be a better man Give me a chance and I’ll show I can chorus solo chorus I may have had 3 wishes, I may have had 9 lives I played you like a gambler, I know I rolled my dice Then I learned the hard way, to treasure what I had Now I beg forgiveness for treating you so bad I know I should be down on my knees I’m praying you show a little mercy please chorus Words and music by D. You’ve been working way to hard, you better slow your body down You’ve been working way to hard, you better slow your body down You’ve been missing way too much, you better take a look around You better fix yourself some coffee, if you can't wake up to this world You better fix yourself some coffee, if you can't wake up to this world Don’t get too used to comfort or you’ll be left out in the cold You need to take some time to grow, you need to open up your mind You need to take some time to grow, you need to open up your mind You better tend to your garden or you’ll just wither on the vine You better tend to your garden, tend to your garden You better tend to your garden, tend to your garden Of all the wisdom that is known, happiness starts at home So better tend to your garden now Did you stop to note the season, or did you let it slip away Did you stop and note the season, or did you let it slip away Well you’ll reap just what you sow and pay fee on judgement day You better tend to your garden, tend to your garden You better tend to your garden, tend to your garden Of all the wisdom that is known, you have to walk this path alone So better tend to your garden now Music and lyrics by D. My friends seen you all over town Carrying on and fooling around But you’re lucky baby, I’ve got an open Cause I do believe every debt gets paid in time I’ve given you more than anyone could expect But more’s not enough you insist on respect But you better save up baby ‘cause the price will fit the crime Yes, I do believe every debt gets paid in time All the money that you take and the people that you use The stories that you fake and your hundredth lame excuse You can fool some of the people some of the time But you’ll never get away with that weight on your mind Well you can feel pretty good for a minute or two So enjoy yourself until playtime’s through Cause when the bell tolls darling, you better get back in line Cause I do believe that every debt gets paid in time Cause I do believe that every debt gets paid in time Every debt… Well I believe… (ooh you better save up baby) That every debt gets paid in time Words/music: Doug Steigerwald All Rights Reserved 2012

I dropped another hundred on the passing line And the keno girl says it’s “get your bets in time” Turns out I’ve been gambling ever since I was born I never lost so much, can’t say I wasn’t warned How could I lose my precious love? So tell me what’s another dollar? If I can’t have you? What’s another heartache, when your world’s turned blue? You can work your whole life, living in a dream When reality strikes, you’ll see what I mean So tell me what’s another dollar? If I can’t have you? I tried my hand at poker, couldn’t keep a straight face Are aces’ high or low, I don’t know, go on, put me in my place Well I tried to remember all the cards that’s been played But how do I abide this mess that I’ve made How could I live, when I’m so alone CHORUS SOLO I watch my life’s savings going quickly down the drain And I watch myself getting caught up in this game But I can be somebody ‘till the money’s all gone I’ll be a king a while, then I’ll be the pawn What else can I lose, now that you’re gone CHORUS What’s another dollar? What’s another dollar to me... (ad lib) I don’t care about money Nothing means a thing My life is so empty Without you in my life SOLO OUT Words and music by Doug Steigerwald All RIghts Reserved 2012

about

Hi All:

This is my debut album: I called it "Three Months..." because that's how long I said it was going to take me to finish it for the past 10 years... Well, better late than never :)

This album was a great learning experience for me--as a songwriter, arranger, engineer and producer. The songs on this album are sort of all over the map musically, but they all have a lot of meaning to me personally so that's why they're together. A big huge thanks to everyone who played on these tracks and to my wife Donna who always supported my work.
